Aerospace Engineering vs Mechanical engineering

If you are international student;looking for doing Aerospace/Aeronautical  engineering in foreign country. Its better for you  think twice before reach on that decision.

Aeronautical/Aerospace engineering is attractive major for student after high school whom are looking for engineering degree. But you have  to careful before choose this major.

its not that easy to get job in Aeronautical/Aerospace major. And truth is  most of airframe manufacturers (Boeing, Raytheon, Cessna, Bombardier, Gulfstream, etc) actually need/hire more mechanical and electrical engineers than aerospace engineers. Aerospace engineers are needed in areas such as aerodynamics, flight test performance, and advanced design.this is very narrow sector. But all other areas of the companies (stress, fatigue, loads, design, structural test, system safety, materials & processes, weights, flight controls, etc) accept degrees other than aerospace.its top  With the software and complexity of systems on aircraft these days, electrical engineers are sought after. more important thing is most of the company want there own nationality for job.because most of the job are top secret and they shows security problem.

so what could be best option ??

Most of the  aircraft manufacture, maintenance company accept other engineering. Mechanical/ Electrical Engineer has broader area where you can get job easily. Most of the aircraft system is related to Mechanical engineering. If you want to master your skill on aerospace engineering you can take few course in Bachelor of Eng as elective which is related to it.From my own experience i am  astronautics  engineer and its hard for me to get job. i do prefer you Mechanical /Electrical Engineer over Aerospace engineer.

if you are still crazy about doing  aerospace engineer as international student, its very very important chose the country and  university. put US university  as top priority; US has lot of Aerospace job where you might able to get god job after degree. Canada, UK, EU and Austria could be another option respectively. Never go china for Aerospace engineering you  will return empty hand after graduation. Specially if you are from Third world county and your country air-force, Aeronautics  and airline sector is not very strong,  don't choose aerospace/aeronautics engineering  as your major.because its very hard to get job after your degree related to your field and other as well.
